Set your instructions

Tell lisnio what to focus on and how you want it to help.

Write your preferences

Open Settings → Instructions. Use plain language to describe useful topics, the kind of detail you want and things lisnio should avoid.

For example: “Check unfamiliar companies and technical terms. Keep answers brief. Do not look up personal details about people on the call.”

Instructions guide how lisnio notices needs and researches answers. They are preferences, not a guarantee that every answer will follow them perfectly. Check answers and their sources.

These instructions apply while Scribe + Assist is on. Scribe transcribes without starting new research; it does not use these research instructions.

Make instructions useful

  • Name topics you care about rather than writing a long list of every possible question.
  • Say what to exclude when a topic is private or irrelevant.
  • Describe the level of detail you want, such as a brief definition or a comparison with sources.

You can leave instructions empty and still use lisnio. Ordinary conversation supplies context for useful research; you do not need to fill out every optional detail first.

Keep sensitive information out

Instructions can be included in online requests. Do not put passwords, connection codes or secrets in them. Read Storage and privacy controls for what transcription and research send to online services.
