Storage and privacy controls
Choose saved audio and understand transcription, research and usage records.
What is saved locally
Transcripts, titles, summaries and Assist questions and answers stay in your selected workspace until you remove them. Open Settings → Workspace to review the folder and storage preferences.
Save audio recordings locally keeps captured audio on your Mac for your own playback, alongside a conversation. We don’t store those recordings on our servers. It starts on for new installations; you can turn it off here, and your saved choice is preserved when you update.
End the active session before changing these settings. Changes apply to new sessions and do not remove files from earlier conversations.
What online services process
Live audio is sent to lisnio’s online transcription service in both modes. With Assist on, relevant conversation text, instructions and selected context also go to online services for useful research. lisnio can send a short audio clip when it needs the original speech to understand a question.
In both modes, transcript text is processed online to write a title and summary after End. Scribe does not run research or live answers.
Turning Save audio recordings locally off controls local retention. It does not make research fully offline or stop audio processing during an active session.
What account history retains
Settings → Usage loads listening time, Scribe and Assist minutes used, time in each mode and the latest synced title from the server. Renaming a recording updates its account title when it syncs. Hiding or deleting a local recording keeps that usage record and its last synced title. See Session usage.
Control an active conversation
Pause stops capture and new research. End finishes the session. Hiding the floating windows does neither. Make sure other participants know and agree before recording them.
Read the privacy notice for online processing, account records and deletion. To remove local material, use Remove and restore conversations.
