Choose audio sources
Microphone, speaker audio or one app: choose the voices to include.
Open Listening settings
Go to Settings → Listening before starting a session. Audio-source controls are unavailable during an active session; end it before changing sources.
Choose the right combination
- Microphone: includes speech arriving at your selected microphone, such as your voice and nearby conversation.
- Speaker audio: includes audio playing through your Mac, useful for remote participants in a call. Other playing audio can also be included.
- Selected app: limits remote capture to the app you choose. Open that app and select it in the Audio app control.
For a remote call, include your microphone and the appropriate remote audio source. For an in-person conversation, microphone-only listening may be sufficient. Headphones can help keep remote sound from being picked up again by the microphone.
Allow audio access
Review lisnio’s access in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Microphone access and system audio capture are separate permissions. If a permission or device changes, follow the warning in lisnio and resume after fixing it.
Recording other people requires their knowledge and agreement. lisnio cannot obtain that permission for you.
Check the result
Start a short session and check that the transcript includes the voices you intended to capture. If speech is missing, use Fix missing audio.
